17,000 elm trees in Brighton & Hove. Amazing!

Absolutely loved this post. I love trees, so all this history and folklore about elms reached deep into my Writers soul. The poor woman found in the tree was proper chilling. Shivers down the spine horrible, but fascinating too. I can’t get that image out of my head. Superb piece of writing. Looking forward to the newest instalment xx

I find trees endlessly fascinating. I might have to give it all up and become an aborist ( is that what they’re called ?) and just watch trees for the rest of my life . But the stories behind them in folklore really give me pause for thought . Gabrielle, thank you so much for reading it 🫢🌳🌳🌳

Another fascinating and layered piece--thank you! Also your personal connection to elms and paintings inspired me to seek out paintings and discovered this fun tidbit: tree experts believe van Gogh's "The Large Plane Trees (Road Menders at Saint-RΓ©my)" weren't plane trees, but elms!

Oh my goodness that’s amazing ! That’s such a haunting painting too … I really love that ! Thank you so much for reading and restacking - I take your lovely words to heartΒ  and it’s cheered me 😊. And I’m so glad you made that connection. All the thank yous 🀍 xx

Thank you so much for reading ( really appreciate it) and restacking 🫢 … yes definite parallels. I quite like the idea of them being pissed off women who only tolerate so much πŸ˜‚
